Us

What’s happening with us you might ask?

October

We had a blast this month. We visited Cox Farm’s, hung out at the park and with friends and went trick or treating. We also visited our new house a couple of times. The new house is coming along nicely- we are suppose to close sometime before the end of the year. However, our townhouse is still on the market and needless to say it looks fabulous after our decluttering escapade.

Here’s our new house.  We will be moving to Eagle’s Point. I love the porch.

September

Now things are beginning to slow down. My short term disability is up on the 29th so I will be going back to work in October. We are currently trying to keep everyone on a decent schedule.  Aidan loves to go to the park- so on Saturdays we try and venture out to a park for him to run around. We are hoping to go to Spotsylvania before the end of the month and spend some time with Rich’s mom down at her end and hopefully see some friends down there as well. We are looking forward to the fall and the festivities that it brings- Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Summer 2007

We had a very exciting summer. In May we went to Franco and Ally’s wedding in Point Clear, Alabama (see our pictures in the travel section).  It was a beautiful ceremony and we enjoyed seeing everyone. At the end of June we headed to Raleigh to visit Angela and Jay in their new home (again, pictures are in the travel section).  Aidan did great on the drive down and had a blast with the cats.  He is such an animal lover.  In July we spent the 4th with the Caro’s in Haymarket.  Aidan saw fireworks for the first time and really enjoyed them- next year we will have to set some off ourselves. August was a quiet month- until Lindsey arrived on the 19th (pictures of our Angel are on her page- Out Angel’s Area).

April

This month was busy for us.  On the 5th we found out that we are having a girl (now the true plans for the nursery can start), on the 9th Rich turned 31 and for the rest of the weekends we did some shopping (for maternity clothes) and of course a ton of cleaning.

The final results of “The Biggest Loser”- although Rich did not win he did lose about 8 pounds- not too bad for an 8 week competition.

We also, bit the bullet and purchased a 2007 Toyota Sienna- yes we have joined the minivan group- although I wanted an SUV for the amount of space that we have in this vehicle a SUV just would not do (especially with the arrival of our second child at the end of the summer). Liz has been practicing driving around- mainly picking Aidan up from daycare and running a few errands.

Rich’s mom and sister went to Korea this month.  We are hoping to receive some photos that we can share with everyone. Since Rich’s dad was out of town on business, Rich had the pleasure of taking them to the airport and picking them up.

March

Rich continued on his plan to become “The Biggest Loser”.  We find out in April how it all played out. So far Rich has won 2 weeks (breaking even on the investment).

We spent a good deal of this month looking for a single family home. Our first adventure led us to many strange homes- poorly decorated and way too expensive for the amount of work that needed to be done. Thankfully the second time we went out we found some places that we could see ourselves living in.  Now we are working on painting our place and then it will be ready for the market.

Liz attended a class at Potomac Hospital- “Tea for Two”. Basically it was comprised of women in their first trimester (I was a bit outside of that) discussing what is to come in pregnancy and have their questions answered. It was a good time; now Liz has to find a couple other classes at the Hospital so everyone is prepared for August.

Liz and Aidan spent a weekend at Gma and Gpa Cockrill’s while Rich went on a business trip.  Although we missed Rich, we had a lot of fun out in Herndon.

February

Aidan celebrated Valentine’s Day at school with some exchanging of cards.  Rich’s and I spent about an hour putting cards together for him.  What could we expect from a 1 year old? We received a bunch of snow- Aidan enjoyed playing out in it.  Of course every time he fell he said, “Oh”.  The coldness did not fair well with his hands.

Rich has participated in the Biggest Loser Home Edition with some of his buddies.  Rich has been doing really well and has already lost 10 pounds- “WAY TO GO”!

January

We welcomed the New Year very quietly. We are excited for this New Year and new adventures.
